I’m Mark—an avid traveler, writer, reader and editor.

Here’s a little information about myself:

• Born in Linstead Hospital, right outside of Kingston, Jamaica.
• My mother is American and father Jamaican.
• Moved to Reading, Pennsylvania, in the middle of winter when I was eight.
• And back to Kingston, Jamaica, two years later.
• Settled in Atlanta, Georgia.
• Completed a study abroad program at Oxford University, UK, through UGA.
• Attained a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from GSU, along with a minor in film production.

About Gravel

Established in 2018, Gravel is a personal travel blog that helps adventurers, like myself, explore unfamiliar territories, which do not or rarely gain the attention of popular media.

I decided to create this blog to enlighten the travelers knowledge of the strange, unknown and mysterious. To encourage those to search for not only fulfillment but truth as well. And to enable travelers to act with integrity and responsibility.

You probably won’t find information on trips to Vegas, London or Paris—and if you do you’ll be taken off the beaten path. My objective is to bring you to a new place never seen before by showing you new sights, sounds and tastes.
